During his stay in London, Peter the Great was a regular in a pub in Great Tower Street. Together with Peregrine Osborne, a marine architect, he used this drinking spot so often that the landlord named the bar after Peter — the Czar’s head. There are no traces of the pub today, although a short distance away Muscovy Street acts as a reminder that this too was one Peter the Great’s haunts.
