The bronze sculpture of the tsar which is 2.04 m high (it is known that he was exactly this height) was created in 1915 by A. Adamson. It was located in the lobby of the Poltava Cadet Corps until its disbandment, and each student could try and measure his height with Peter. However, in 1950 the monument was moved to the building of the Museum of the History of the Battle of Poltava.
Peter the Great is depicted in the uniform of a colonel of the Preobrazhensky regiment, also on the pedestal you can see the autograph of the sculptor and the year of monument’s construction.
