Сопроводительный текст к рисунку: «The painting depicts the famous story of Tanya Savicheva, a teenage Russian girl who kept a diary in 1942 during the siege of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. She recorded in the diary the successive deaths of each member of her family, believing herself to be the only living member of her family. This drawing and story symbolise the human cost of the siege of Leningrad, the cruelty and horror of the Great Patriotic War».
