The Statue of Peter I

Peter’s visit to London is commemorated by a  statue on the west bank of Deptford Creek. The monument by the sculptor Mihail Chemiakin and the architect Viacheslav Bukhaev was erected in 2000 near the royal shipyard where Peter I studied shipbuilding. It depicts the Czar standing on the platform flanked by canons, between a throne and a dwarf, looking out across the Thames.
