Captain Nemo is the positive hero of Jules Verne's famous books "20 thousand Leagues under the Sea" and "The Mysterious Island". This is an inventor, a scientist who created an amazing submarine "Nautilus", on which he travels around the world. Jules Verne created an incredibly romantic and mysterious image. Nemo is a defender of the seas and oceans, helping innocent people. Captain Nemo is described as a strong-willed man, tough and sometimes even cruel. Captain Nemo sinks an English military frigate, but he is characterized by both breadth of soul and indifference to the fate of the world. Nemo helps freedom fighters in Crete, rescues a pearl diver, risking his life.

In my opinion, one of the best works of the French writer Jules Verne was the adventure novel “The Fifteen-Year-Old Captain.” And in these adventures the amazing character of the young captain Dick Sand is most clearly revealed.
More than once, when faced with difficulties, Dick has to risk his life, but the brave young man never stops in the face of obstacles. He shows amazing resourcefulness and courage precisely in those moments when it seems that nothing can save him from imminent death. The young captain saves himself, but first of all his friends. He fearlessly takes command of the Pilgrim. He is trying to figure out a way to get to the shore that would be less dangerous for his companions. But new challenges await them along the way. The travelers are captured by slave traders. And even in this difficult situation, Dick Sand comes up with a rescue plan. The young man uses every such opportunity, thanks to which he finds a way out of this and many other difficult situations.

The best qualities of a fifteen-year-old captain are willpower, energy, courage, perseverance, justice and nobility.
