In the works of Jules Verne, there are several characters who can be considered positive due to their admirable qualities, values, and actions. One such character is Phileas Fogg from the novel "Around the World in Eighty Days."

Phileas Fogg can be regarded as a positive character because of his unwavering determination, intellectual prowess, and his sense of honor and responsibility. Despite being perceived as an eccentric and aloof gentleman, Fogg demonstrates remarkable qualities throughout his journey.

Firstly, Fogg's determination is evident in his decision to travel around the world in such a short time. He meticulously plans his itinerary and faces countless obstacles and challenges along the way. Despite facing adversities, he remains focused on his goal, refusing to give up.

Secondly, Fogg's intelligence and quick thinking are commendable. He possesses a vast knowledge of geography, history, and culture, which assists him in navigating unfamiliar territories. His logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities allow him to overcome hurdles, such as when he saves Aouda from her captors or when he outsmarts the detective Fix.

Additionally, Fogg's honorable nature is evident in his commitment to keeping his word and maintaining his sense of integrity. Even when falsely accused of robbery and pursued by Detective Fix, Fogg remains composed and steadfast, believing in the power of truth and justice. He upholds his responsibilities towards his loyal servant, Passepartout, and treats him with respect and kindness.

Furthermore, throughout his journey, Fogg exhibits a sense of compassion and justice. He rescues Aouda, a damsel in distress, and takes her under his care, showing empathy towards others in need. Fogg's actions demonstrate his noble character and his belief in doing the right thing.

In conclusion, Phileas Fogg can be considered a positive character in Jules Verne's works due to his determination, intellectual abilities, sense of honor, and compassion. Fogg's unwavering commitment to his goal, his problem-solving skills, and his empathetic nature contribute to his portrayal as a protagonist with admirable qualities. Through Fogg, Verne emphasizes the importance of perseverance, knowledge, integrity, and compassion as essential traits of a positive individual.

Положительные герои произведений Жюля Верна

Новому типу романа, введенному в литературу Жюлем Верном, соответствовал также и новый герой: пытливый исследователь, инженер, путешественник, изобретатель, ученый, готовый ради достижения почти невозможной цели совершить любой подвиг, пойти на любую жертву. Его стремления определяются не узко-эгоистическими расчетами, как у большинства героев буржуазной литературы, а интересами куда более широкими и общественно-значимыми. Мужественные, благородные, свободолюбивые герои Жюля Верна не знают корысти и лицемерия. Их высокие моральные качества раскрываются в действиях, утверждающих отвагу дерзаний, непримиримость в борьбе.

Часто у Жюля Верна повторяются типовые характеристики и отдельные сюжетные положения. Но даже при наличии явного сходства родственных персонажей каждому из них присущи индивидуальные особенности, своеобразные черты характера.

Во многих романах встречается образ чудака-ученого, самоотверженного фанатика науки, неприспособленного к практической жизни и вследствие этого часто попадающего в смешные и нелепые положения. И доктор Клоубонни («Капитан Гаттерас»), и Жак Паганель («Дети капитана Гранта»), и кузен Бенедикт («Пятнадцатилетний капитан»), и Зефирен Ксирдаль («В погоне за метеором») и многие другие персонажи, варьирующие этот образ, — и похожи и не похожи друг на друга. Каждый из них обрисован настолько ярко, что запоминается на всю жизнь. Смешной и рассеянный энтомолог Бенедикт вовсе не является копией тоже смешного и тоже рассеянного географа Паганеля, наделенного, к тому же, замечательным благородством, великодушием и другими привлекательными качествами. Но зато все эти чудаки-ученые одинаково успешно выступают в роли своеобразной «ходячей энциклопедии», перемежая рассуждения на научные темы остроумными шутками и забавными выходками.

Жизнерадостный юмор вообще является одним из самых привлекательных свойств творческой манеры Жюля Верна. Атмосферу здорового веселья, непринужденного комизма обычно вносят в его романы образы слуг, которым отводится не служебная, а первостепенная роль в развитии действия (Паспарту, Консель, Джо и др.). Отношения между хозяином и слугой основаны на взаимном уважении и доверии. Слуга здесь фактически уже не слуга, а верный друг и незаменимый помощник ученого или путешественника, в равной степени заинтересованный в успехе его предприятия.

His determination reflects his strong willpower and the ability to stay focused on his goal, despite the challenges he faces.

Additionally, Phileas Fogg's discipline is commendable. He strictly adheres to a precise schedule and routine, never deviating from his plans. This discipline is portrayed when he always catches his trains, avoids distractions, and displays an incredible attention to detail. His disciplined nature not only aids him in successfully completing his journey but also serves as a reminder of the importance of determination and dedication in achieving one's goals.

Furthermore, Phileas Fogg's honorable nature shines through his actions and decisions in the novel. Despite being accused of theft and pursued by Detective Fix, he remains calm and collected, always acting with integrity. He shows kindness and generosity towards others, such as when he rescues Aouda, a young Indian widow, from her dire circumstances. Phileas Fogg's unwavering loyalty and honesty make him a positive character who possesses moral values.
